Talk to your mom and ask her why she thinks you have an eating disorder and ask her what she'd like you to do about it. Perhaps a trip to a nutritionist or psychiatrist will be enough to satisfy your mom and help eliminate any doubts she may have.

Just explain it to them and be patient. If you explode in their faces it will just make them believe it more. You may have to satisfy your mom with a trip to the doctors to have your BMI checked out but after that there is really nothing you can do. If your BMI is low it may be hard to convince them that you are healthy, but if things are how you describe them you will be able to do it. People have accused me of having an eating disorder too, but after I had my BMI checked out and it was fine they believed me. Just because you don't eat much or seem to eat a lot doesn't mean you have a eating disorder, it may just mean you have odd eating habits = ) just kidding. If you are having weird eating habits though you might want to talk to your doctor to make sure it's not serious. Good luck, I know you can do it.

I have a suggestion. Keep a diet journal containing what you eat and how much of it for three solid, ordinary days. Also detail if you vomit at all, as vomiting after eating is a symptom of a particular disorder. And in fairness, if you vomit more than three hours later, it could be a foodborne illness.
Anyone who thinks you have a problem, ask them why. I couldn't tell you.

One way would be for you to ask your parents to make an appointment for you to see a doctor that specializes in this to get an assessment.
Hopefully, if the doctor tells your parents that you don't have an eating disorder, that they will believe the doctor.

If you are losing weight and u are currently underweight, u have an eating disorder. Fix it. As long as ur not overweight, you'll be fine. To dfind out if ur overweight or underseight, there are comercially available charts.
If this does not apply, use the info you find as evidence that u do not have an eating disorder by making a chart of ur weight for a month and how much ur underweight.

"Mom, if you think you know me better than I know myself, you must be a God. If you are God, you must know everybody else's health habits or otherwise, and be right 100% of the time. If you are right 100% of the time, I must be 100% wrong. How can you , instead, be helpful and empowering to me to help me trust my own senses than telling me everything you think I don't know about myself. If you help me believe I can trust my own sensing of myself, I just may align myself to what God thinks I should go, not you or me, or at least close to that."
to your friends - "If I trust my senses, I've a feeling that none of you really care for me when you go about 'talking' about me like I don't exist. If you truly care for me, you'll come to me to confront me or else speak to me about your opinion about me, then, allow me to respond to you. If you hear me accurately, then you just might hear that I'm only angry that I'm being talked about behind my back. If I have a problem with eating, it would have to be so bad I would look either very abnormal or else think abnormally. I hardly think so at this point. I may not always know the 'line', but, I'm sure I don't have an eating disorder at this point in my life. I will not be offended if you approach me directly, to check things out with me, but I will feel like this is the reason why the whole world is out of whack, people talking behind everybody else' back, and expect people to change!"
I hope this helps....generally people don't talk this way, but, it will show you how trust can be slowly generated if you continue to share bits of yourself in clear terms with the person you are with. No generalitites, just specifics.

My first question would be "What makes your mother suspect you have an eating disorder?" Please provide better details as to what is happening, do you eat and then throw-up? Do you eat like a bird, very little. There are questions that require answering before one can give a good response

You could have your mother and friends make a list of things they think is an "eating disorder" in your eating habits. Then you take that list and explain in your own words and experience about each item on the list's that makes it not true and why.

It sounds like you're in denial. If your family and your friends think there's something wrong with you, there probably is. Go get checked out by a doctor and let him be the judge. Is your weight really down or are you obese?

My mom started thinking the same thing because I was so thin. I would always eat infront of her and continually told her that I didn't and she finally believed me.
