I have a little-lower-than-shoulder length hair. I'm growing it out for 2 reasons. 1 because I like longer hair and 2 because once I get it long enough I'm going to cut it and give it to Locks of Love.
But until it's long enough can you give me suggestions of cool ways to keep it back, besides and normal ponytail or bun?

A half-ponytail, also known as a polyanna, also headbands. And when my hair gets long enough I'm going to donate to Locks of Love too =0)

You can use bejeweled click clacks and pin your hair back. Even the cheaper ones look good and are easy to hide. A bit of hairspray will works wonders too. The hair will move but not bother your face and will always go back into place. Scarves are a trendy alternative to hairbands but both work great.
