Yes, you are confused. As far as adaptation goes; all creatures have adapted over the years to climate and food sources. Man has adapted as well. However man has always been man. God created man in His likeness out of matter. Some people say clay but I think that is metaphorical. Adam was the first man and Eve was the first woman. Therefore, we are descended from Adam and Eve.

Had the same thing in high school, the teacher was my dads best friend, he did not believe in God (knew that for a fact) I argued and still argue this one, now they have even found a new species of cave man. I do believe in cave men and I do believe in Adam and eve, the loop hole in the whole caveman thing for me is that there were overlaps in the different cavemen where they both existed during the same time periods. I don't believe we were evolved from apes either! Yes OK, there were cavemen, they went out with the dinosaurs! God made Adam and Eve, they were not monkeys or cavemen, could not have been, history tells us how cavemen treated women, they would have never been persuaded to eat that apple lol
Do what I did, answer the tests and quizzes as the teacher wants then forget about it!

In my opinion, it's always better to study the various theories for yourself. HOWEvER at this time in your life - it is not expedient for you to argue the point with your (mostly ignorant on the subject and therefore spewing only the latest text book rhetoric) teachers. Simply study what they teach and answer the questions accordingly so that you can pass. Once you get to higher level education, you are allowed to use your brain a bit more depending on how open minded your professors are.
In the meantime, investigate both evolution and creationism yourself (I'm sorry, but the clay ball thing is just stupid). There are tons of websites, the library, your elders including Christian elders and scientists, and read read read!

First the root of the cause. for Satan is the author of confusion as Brother Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 14:33; For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
So your confusion is part of his doings. Adaptation goes for all creatures over the years. Even mankind. God created man in His own image and likeness.
We were (according to scripture) formed from the dust of the ground as well as the animal kingdom. That's why in death we decay and return back to the dust, the source from which we came to be. Adam was the first man and Eve was the first woman. They are humanities first parents. They were created or made, as well as the angelic realm, all others are born into the human race.

The surest way to fail at science is to try to bring god into it. The straight skinny is this: humans, and present-day apes, all evolved from a common ancestor that lived perhaps ten million years ago. See reference for an excellent explication of the details. The story of Adam and Eve, as well as most of the rest of the biblical tales in Genesis, is fiction.

You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You were created by God and for God.
Your science teacher should know by now that the "monkey to man theory" has been squashed by DNA.
DNA tells us that we all go back to the same mother - EVE.

All those ideas are theories. Nobody knows the definite answer to the origin of man, and nobody ever will. There simply are things man is incapable of comprehending. Some men attempt to explain these things, and, with their feeble minds proclaim knowledge of things way beyond their capabilities

Confusion is the beginning of all knowledge, I figure. People spending so much time and effort on where they been they do not know where they are going, I figure. All of creation, all that exists, all that does not exist, all of all is God... we are the created and the creator. Being educated by the uneducated educated... the transfer of information... schools, colleges, forget who the customers are... tests only limit what the imagination is willing to imagine and actuate.

Hey, if you have to write something about evolution, then do so. Just write against it, using the bible if you like. that would sure add a sweet twist to your assignment. There's a published book on the scientific proof against evolution. It's pretty sweet. One of the few book i enjoy to read, and its online at www.creationscience.com
