to even enter you have to pass a multitude of tests, both physical and psychological. There are intelligence requirements as well. If you have any kind of illness that requires daily medication, or had to take daily medication in the past then you are disqualified. If you have been charged with certain crimes, those also disqualify you. If you admit to doing certain thing, but don't have a criminal record, that too disqualifies you. Todays military is actually very selective about who joins.

you would think that phycosis would keep you out. But I know someone that is still in the guard and has been accepted to re-enlist even after a suicide attempt. So I think it depends upon the brach you are looking to go into.
