Can peanut butter make a dog constipated?

I just bought one of thoese Kong dog toys for my chihuahua and I have been putting peanut butter in it for him...is there any way peanut butter can make a dog constipated?

No peanut butter will not normally cause constipation in a dog. For the constipation give the dog a teaspoon of canned (regular) pumpkin and this will help with the constipation.

Not typically, but it's certainly possible, and tiny dogs can be susceptible to many things that a larger dog would not. If the constipation started when you started giving the peanut butter, you can certainly back off the peanut butter for a few days and then should be able to tell if everything goes back to normal.

I love peanut butter and love to snack on it, and yea it does make me the way you've described in your queation. So I would imagine that it very well could do the same thing to your chihuahua. But, it is funny to watch a dog eat peanut butter.

Not that I know of. My dogs are fine and they LOVE peanut butter. I let them lick the spoon whenever I have a peanut butter sandwhich.

i thik it will, it does humans, if you eat tooo much, but i don't think a little will hurt, they do love it.
