The minimum requirement for not U.S. Citizen to enter into military service is to have a Work Authorization card from Immigration. Joining the military can fast track your application for Citizenship, as well as all fees are waived. Generally a non-citizen can get citizen ship withing 1 year after joining the military.

NO, many foreign nationals serve in the U.S. Military.
You wont be serving in a job that requires a security
clearance. That still leaves alot open. If your are killed
serving honorably you will receive citizenship. Or you can
apply for it after a few years of honorable service.
No criminal record in your country of origin helps, and
fluency in English and most any foreign language is a plus,

No, there are legal immigrants serving in the US military. While I was in Iraq, a girl in my unit became an American citizen. She is from Brazil.

No, I have many neighbors that are Hispanic and German. There are certain areas of the military that they are not allowed to serve in such as intelligence, and they also cannot be promoted past a certain rank, and they have to speak English when in uniform.

No you can serve and not be american... but there are stipulations... I don't know exactly what they are though
