The man walking by told the man drowning "It's pronounced help, not helps."
The man drowning said "Don't tell me how to say it just save me from drowning!"

What do you understand?

It's sad that that is an accurate metaphore for churches today. Churches only want ppl who are well to do and that think like them. If your poor, disabled, or disagree with the church on anything, you are immedietly shunned. They want ppl who are doing good so that they can support the church, which is dying. And they are dying for that very reason. Someone needs to go around and tell them that it's the sick that need the doctor, not the healthy. But, I think it's best if the church dies so that the true believers can come along afterwards and start a church that reflects the one that Christ told us to build.
Well, I think that covers it. - Ryan

The drowning man had time to say all that? He's crying wolf and should save himself.

If I am the man on dry land, I will take a seat on the river bank and ask him to debate his case.

That's a neat story. I guess the point is that he was being picky about things that didn't matter at all at the moment, instead of focusing on the grander issues.

If you're drowning and need help, don't be an *** to the only person around who can save you. Makes sense to me.

I think that your story means not to lose the opportunity to help someone asking just because they may do so in a manner that we think is incorrect or different to us. We are not to judge; but help regardless of how it is brought to our attention.

We need to love and have more action than talk the talk and judge other people and even fellow Christians.

The world will reject The Message of Jesus Christ not so much because of our morals, but because of our lack of compassion.
