Yes. Many people think something that is changed in their life will make it better and then when it happens, it isn't what they thought it would be.

A few years ago, I stumbled on some writings that told me how to get what I want. I became wealthier, made love to beautiful women, and displayed my artwork all over the country. But I learned one vital catch:

If I wish for something vague, the great genie of life finds many ways to make an annoyance of my desires. If I wish to have sex with beautiful women without strings, the very women who delight me tonight are gone tomorrow... even if I really thought we had something.

If I wish for wealth, but don't specify how much, I may end up with $50.

If I wish to show my work, I may end up having to spend that $50 sending my work all the way across the country... and back, because I forgot to wish that it would sell.

Indeed, be careful what you wish for. And make sure there aren't any double-meanings to any of the words you use in phrasing your wish. "Getting laid" can mean making sweet love or being hit by a car ("getting laid-out").

Yes, because on a small level scale, a person can ask for something really big (like a covertible) for some occasion, and in the end they could get in a crash and hurt themselves because the car had no roof, or they might not like it in the end and then they will be expected to drive it anyway, or insurance might be too high, etc.

Yep - lots of truth to that statement. Lots of truth to this one too: Be careful what you pray for, because God may choose to give it to you because you asked, and not because you needed it. One time my brother was going through a horrible messy divorce. He kept asking and praying for his wife to come back to him. She did come back --- pregnant, and wanting him to pay for her to get an abortion for another man's child. He wound up actually paying for it too, because if she had had the baby, he would have legally been the father and she could have sued him for child support of another man's child.

So, Be careful what you ask for, wish for, or pray for!

yes there is.

If you wish for a brand new SUV for example, can you afford the insurance? can you afford the gas? Maintenance?

there are many 'things' you may want, but they are not always good for you.
