Ok, so I just did something stupid and chipped my brand new food processor. Yeah, way to go. It's really a tiny barely visible chip, but the problem is I can't find the bit that chipped off. It's most likely in the cookie dough. I don't really want to throw it all out, but I wonder how worried I should be about poisoning people? I don't think its all that sharp.

The chipped off part is a quarter of an inch long and a sixteenth of an inch deep at the deepest point.

I think maybe it was more grated than wacked off when I slammed the food processor repeatedly with the "zesting" surface of my cheeze grater while I was brain dead. Maybe the plastic is stuck in there, because nothing ever comes out. Still there might be some plastic fragments in the food.

most likely you will be okay the worst case would be some one munching on the cookies so hard that they chip a tooth on it but their system will take the plastic right on thru so not t worry would be hard to get sick from a small plastic piece surgeons take whole big things out of people stomachs and they survive nice of you to make cookies though any chocolate chips in them?

It depends what kind of metal it is, if it's harmful, and if it's been treated with chemicals.

If you said yes to any of those, just dont use it.

And really, if its under a 8th inch- fifth inch cube, you dont need to worry

Or if its big enough to spot in the finished cookies, then dont worry about it.

you won't poison anyone, but someone could chip a tooth.

you might have to throw it out to be safe. you don't want to race anyone to the hospital.
