You can see your body as a bathtub with energy (protein, carbs, fat) flowing in through the faucet (food) and out through the drain (energy expended. If you want to loose weight (lower the water level) you can turn down the faucet (diet) or increase the drainage (exercise). The latter is much better because diets don't work, and because exercise gives a lot of other benefits. Lifting weights isn't the best way to loose energy. Swimming, running and so on will burn off more.

Just wanna tell you, my family doctor told me before:

Do not change any food items in "the three-days diet" and after the diet (3 days) you should eat normal for at least 1 week then start another 3 days if you want to loose more weight.

I don't have a specific recipe but in general, you'll want to eat more proteins, veggies and low-fat dairy and less carbs. Soy is also good for you but I've yet to find a way to incorporate that into my food and have it taste good. I'm sure there are others who might be able to help you with soy ideas. Here are some good choices:

proteins:
- skinless, boneless chicken breasts (baked or cooked in a skillet w/ a little olive oil)

- baked fish (cod is a good choice and has a mild flavor)

- turkey (ground turkey is a good replacement for hamburger in recipies, turkey breasts can also be prepared in the same way as chicken breasts)

- lean cuts of beef/pork (not as good for you as chicken/fish/turkey)

veggies:

- leafy greens which (to me) are prepared easiest in salads (iceberg and romaine lettuce are easy choices, as is baby spinach)

- beans/legumes (pintos, green beans, peas, lima beans, butter beans are all good for you, just be careful of buying them canned instead of whole as a lot of salt is added in the canning process. whenever possible, buy beans fresh and prepare yourself. i've found pinto beans and green beans to be the easiest to find fresh)

low-fat dairy:

- skim milk

- low-fat yogurt

- low-fat cheeses (skim milk mozzarella is good)

One thing that is easy to do for lunch is dice up a cooked chicken/turkey breast, add a little shredded low-fat cheese, shredded lettuce, light ranch dressing and roll all of it up into a whole wheat tortilla. These also freeze well if you bought a lot of meat and needed to make them in a big batch.

Cut out the obvious junk. Eat veggies, lots of them.

I eat raw carrots with ranch dressing. Don't starve yourself. Just eat sensibly and don't eat when you are not really hungry.

I tend to do that. I get a break at work and I think I have to eat something.

And NO VEGGIE BURGERS EVER ! Thats just wrong.

If you eat when you’re burdened, try munching on pumpkin or perhaps sunflower seeds. You’ll need to be able to chew more, which will dissipate a few of that energy, but without introducing calories.
