The easiest way is to do it. Do you drive a car? Statisticly you have abeeter chance of dying in a car than dying in an aircraft over 10 years.
Aircraft are very safe... and the FAA assures this. Try flying a short distance first, then move on.

Phobia is not rational fear. So giving you the stats on the real facts is not helpful. If you are a casual drinker and not an alcoholic, then have a few shots before flying. Get a doctor to give you some Valium, or something like that. Don't become a druggy though. DRIVE and avoid planes if you are a dependent personality type...

I know how you feel....I have a fear of flying but over the past few years it has got better each time. I find it better getting a seat nearer the front of the plane as you dont feel the lift of the take off so much then, get a window seat so you can see whats going on down below ( I actually enjoy looking out now but never used to be able to). I get diazepam off the doctors when i fly- you only need a low dosage and I take it about half an hour before boarding- it stops that horrible panicky feeling and makes me think a bit clearer about flying. I still get nervous but nowhere near as bad as I used to be. and a message to other people saying just enjoy it blahblahblah...shut the hell up haha....i hate being scared of it but its just one of those things! ;-)

I used to be afraid of flying, I used to dread it but suprisingly I love to go on planes now! When taking off, Try reading an interesting news paper, or talking to your mate, family member ect. While on the plane never be board, take you're mp3, and quiz books andything you find fun. Makesure you exercize aswell. Every say hour get up and walk up and down the plane for a bit so you wont get clostraphobic. And as for landing, its pretty fun really. Just don't imagine you're in a plane just imagine happy stuff. Make sure you don't have any negative thoughts like you're gunna crash thats just awfull! Negative energy is very bad! Hope this helps

The best way is to fly. The more you fly, the more confident you'll become that you really are safe up there. If I were in your situation, and I was once, I would go to a small local airport and take an introductory flight lesson. I flew in light planes for years before I ever got in a commercial jet and I think it helped me. Tell them your concerns with flying and they will probably take you up and let you have a crack at the controls. Who knows, you might even become hooked on flying. Low and slow is the way to go.

You are not afraid of flying. You are afraid of crashing. So you should stay away from cars and bikes too. You should stay away from sidewalks too they get kind of close to these moving things that crash. By the way you will never fly. If riding in a plane is flying then riding in a boat is swimming.

i use to have the fear of flying, you have to look at it like this, when it is your time, it is your time. I would rather have something happen in a plane, because it is going to be quick, you can get into a car accident, and die, you can get into a train, and derail, or take a ship, and it could sink. I just said the hell with it, got on, and fly, it is still the quickest form of transportation around, and just go with it.

I flew a skydiving plane for several years and I met hundreds of people who did it just to confront their fears of heights or flying.
My wife is also afraid of flying. Her method is to lose herself in a
book for the duration. Everyone is afraid of crashing. Especially
the pilots (after all, they are the first to arrive at the scene of a
crash!) Your best odds lie in flying on a first-world airline (US,
British, Canadian, etc). Personally, I'm more concerned about
a hijacking than a crash for any other reason.
