I'm like you and I really didn't have any racial preference- I just dated whoever I thought was attractive and interesting. I think for those people who don't date certain races just because they don't want to go there they are being very closed minded. I have a friend who is also black and she just strictly dates white men only. She has never dated a black person before but she insists that they are all the same so she only dates white men. For me in high school I used to get the "she's cute for a black girl" from guys who weren't black, and I would always wonder why they would say that. I dated a white guy and even though we liked eachother it was difficult at times because when I would be around his white friends, they would either act too natural (like say the word ***** around me) or it was like they were walking on eggshells trying not to offend me and always saying "oh! ohhh! no offense!" if they said anything in reference to black people. it was odd and in time it took a toll on the relationship.
So I've had my share, I dated both in and outside of my race and all I can say to you is be with whoever makes you truly happy. My current boyfriend now is black, and its so refreshing to have someone on your side who really KNOWS what its like- and I hate to say it, but knows how it is when you get discriminated against, or other things that only someone of your same culture can experience. BUT ULTIMATELY You should be with someone who understands you and can understand the things you are going through and can help and aid you. Take into account of all things, including your future, and your children in the future.
We are all children of God. Any size, any color. If people remembered that more there wouldn't be any such thing as "interracial dating" in the first place.

I am black and have dated and had a baby by a white guy. It was really confusing for my black friends and understanding with my white friends. My parents don't have anything to say about interracial dating. But overall the question Is are you comfortable with your relationship? People talk all day long but when your scared of what someone will say or what kind of reaction people will give you that means your not confident of yourself enough. No matter what the race Is as long as you and your man are happy who cares what everyone else thinks....good luck and keep your head up!!

I have dated out my race before and I don't care about the persons race.I grew up in a family that specifically only dated black men.I'm the first in my family to date outside the race and I think that I have had better luck with men then my family members. It doesn't matter the mans skin color, what matters is how the man treats you.
