Running in place? Not quite. Air quality in houses is usually lower than outside, and you really are using different muscles to run in place. It'd basically be the same if you were running back and forth in a room (other than looking like a mental patient).
There's also the social aspect. Depending on where you run, you might have to endure 10,000 jackazzes shouting "Run, Forest, run!" every thirty seconds. Or you might have people who smile, shout out encouragement and wave to you. Any goal you might serve by running will be easier if you have the support of others.

no,its better to run out side then inside,its differant because the treadmill is softer then the pavment outside so its easyer to run on a tread mill then outsdie.
