he is in my last period class and talks to me sometimes and sometimes he eavesdrops on my conversations with other people and joins into the conversation. He is shy. i play soccer and so does he and we talk about soccer a lot. i see him around school alot but we only talk in class.

Ask him. If he is like a lot of guys, he may be a little uncomfortable at first if he does not know how to dance. It can be hard to learn how to lead properly. But, I bet you can help him with that.
