Over the past 4 months, my husband has had dime size to nickel size lesions appear on his legs and scalp that appear to "scab" over with a layer of dry skin. This layer events flakes of like a scab, but then the lesion is red and the process starts over again. "Scabs" over with, not a "blood" scab, but just what looks like a layer of epidermis that has dried to a white patch and then flakes of like a scab.

Has anybody ever seen or heard of this? Once again, it is only on his legs and has recently had small pencil-eraser-size spots appear on his scalp that do the same thing.

It sounds like psoriasis. I've had it for years and it does just exactly what you describe. Have your hubby see a dermatologist and he can get medications for it. Also if he goes to a tanning salon the UV waves supposedly help, though I've never gotten any response from being in the sun.

No one knows what causes it or how to get rid of it. Mine flares up when I'm stressed.

OOOH it numular eczema. My son had that it is due to a severe allergy. Bring him to an allergist and they will prescripe some cream. I can't remember the name of my sons presciption I am sorry. But tell the doc you think it is numular eczema it is WICKED hard to diagnose. I took my son to twelve different doctors and they treated him for everything from ring worm, to scabies....one doc even had to refer to his medical guide.

could be ringworm and if it is on th scalp then it is really a problem and requires oral meds and topical...sounds like a visit to the doctor is in order...it has been going on for four months and that is long enough to give time to heal without medical intervention
