The daily echange rates are set by the international banking community. Each bank or exchange booth company takes a piece of every transaction usually up to 1% of your transaction. Keep in mind too that nearly all U.S. banks charge for the ATM transaction PLUS they ALL charge an additional 1% for the withdrawal. I withdrew $3000 from my bank last week and was charged an additional $30 for the privelige. Go to the bank with your passport and ATM card to make your withdrawals. You will not avoid the 1% but you can save the ATM fee. The exchange rate also changes on a daily basis. If you bring funds with you, $100 bills and travellers checks in $100 increments are best for the most favorable echange rate. The banks will charge you 30 baht (almost a dollar) for each travellers check cashed...3 $50 checks...90 baht....

As the banks and ATMS tend to offer competitve rates based on the actual exchange rate which does fluctuate daily.. I find most places to be pretty close.. other than the hotel lobby etc.. and so I cannot imagine a special trip to Super Rich as being that worthwhile unless you are changing large amts or are in the area anyway.. I had never heard of it before, but will certainly check it out if nearby... but mostly, I do bank transfers and use my ATM..

I did change for USD, Euro, Ringits, Singapore $, Chinese yuan and HK $ there. The offerred rates are slightly better than the commercial banks depending on currecny and market. It's fine with me as they're authorized currentcy exchange agent and I don't have problem after doing with them.

The banks offer good rates too, just minor differences among them. If you have time, you can always look around before you change, but for convenience, the banks and the exchange booth offer quite good rate too.
