Ever since I can remember I have had a series of small red bumps over my upper arms. Within the last five years they have been spreading to my lower arms, lower back, and butt cheeks. They do not hurt or itch or bother me in the least except for the fact that they are ugly. They get a little better in the summer with sun exposure but never go away.

Does anyone have an idea what they are or how I might get rid of them? I have tried acne body wash, body scrubs, and several different face wash products.

Thanks so much!

It isn't herpes--I've had it since I was about 5...

I do not think it is an allergy either since it never really flares up or goes away, but I am getting allergy tested in about 3 months when my insurance kicks in, so thanks.

Thanks for the info about exzema! I will be sure to go to the dermatologist too when I get insurance...

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, BUT I had the same thing when I was a kid, NOW I have eczema which is worse, as the skin dries and cracks and bleeds at the worst point. I think this dermatitis is a precursor to eczema.
See a dermatologist as soon as you can, don't wait like I did, to have cracked bleeding elbows in the winter. Yes sunshine does make it "go away" as the same thing happens with me in the summer, my eczema is GONE but returns after the weather changes and I am not in the sun that much anymore.

About a month I had something like this but I had it for a week or two, I had a herpes viris, and I went to get accupuncture, and then over the next few days I was okey, just stay away from other people if it is a herpes viris.

That happened to me-had an allergy. Get allergy tested! May be as easy as changing your diet.
