It kind of depends how blind. If you mean blind as in everything pitch black, then of corse not. How could he?

Being "blind" does not necessarily mean entirely lacking any vision whatsoever. Many people categorized as blind have such poor sight that they can't engage in activities requiring normal vision, but they may still be able to detect light and dark, and also detect the predominant colors in front of them. Sometimes they can also detect large shapes.

Only be feel...haven't you seen "Mask" where the boy teaches the blind girl about colors with touch? Hot stones for "red" , ice for "blue", warm stones for "pink". I would think that would be the closest you could get to explaing it adequately.
