When you get a mixed breed, hybrid, mutt or whatever it is you want to call it, you're getting a wildcard. It could have any random trait of either parent.
Look at it as though you were thinking people. very large caucasion mother, incredibly small african american father. What's the baby going to look like? Genetics are not species specific.
In other words, there is no way to know, not even seeing a full grown dog with the same parentage as the puppy you're getting. my parents have four children, and none of us look alike.
But if it's what you want and you understand that you will not know what you're getting until it's been had for months and months, then go for it. Anyone that tells you that you shouldn't needs to shuttup, open their eyes and see that there are more people with more opinions in the world than just them and those that agree with them.
I've never said that everyone should get a mixed breed. I deffend the mutts of the shelters and still have a burning desire to own and raise a PB papillon *with the cute little butterfly ears... #drool#* I see both stories, and i see both mutts and PBs as living things, not bundles of good or bad genetics. but here I am ranting...
You go get what you want and don't let anyone tell you you're wrong for it. happy hunting.

the size depends on how big the parents are... lhasa apso breed is pretty much the size of a shih tzu... about 8 to 12 pounds.. and a maltese is the size of a yorkie about 5-10 pounds... its hard to find a specific mix breed unless you want to go to a breeder that specifically breeds purebreds together and creates mixbreeds... remember its a mix breed and it should not cost more then 500 ... 600 at the most.. even thats to high but maltese is an expensive breed thats why.... don't go to a pet store and buy one because those puppies come from puppy mills.. your best bet is to pic up a weekly bargain finder ( add magazine ) and look for a breeder that just happened to have a litter... those pups would be home raised and probably won't be overpriced... good luck.....
try looking up a pom/shih tzu cross ... they are amazing too

"Lhasotese" don't get really big; roughly about 10-12 lbs. They need lots of grooming to keep the shedding under control. Keep in mind that on line is not the answer for finding what you want, pet wise. Talk to Maltese breeders or look in dog magazines for contacts. Correspond with people you develop a relationship with about the cross-breed you are interested in. There are many people out there that aren't exactly honest as well as many more whom are. Good luck in your endeavor .

It really depends on which genes it picks up and whether it is male or female... usually males are larger. I own large breed dogs. I can say that I have seen the mix you are looking for can be compareable to a medium sized dog. Like I said though it does depend on what genes they pick up.

WHY may you combine a reserved breed like a Lhasa with a neurotic style like a schnauzer? You did not do any study earlier to procure your dogs it extremely is why you don't recognize what to assume in his habit... no feasible.

I HAVE A YORKIE MALTESE HE IS ABOUT 8.5 LBS.
JUST BE READY TO MAKE A DAILY HOBBY OF BRUSHING YOUR DOG OR IT IS GOING TO GET MATTED AND HAVE TO BE SHAVED. YOU HAVE TO BRUSH IT ALL OVER THE BODY, THESE TWO BREEDS HAVE SUPER SOFT HAIR LIKE HUMANS AND JUST LIKE US THEY HAVE TO BRUSH THEIR HAIR EVERYDAY, IF NOT MORE SO.ESP WHEN THEY ARE RUNNING AROUND AND EVERYTHING IS GETTING TANGLED. TAKE IT TO THE GROOMER ABOUT ONCE A MONTH AT LEAST, THIS WILL BE ABOUT $40. START TAKING THEM YOUNG JUST TO GET BATHS TO GET THEM USED TO THE CLIPPERS, BLOW DRYER, WATER, ETC OR THEY WILL GET FREAKED OUT IF YOU DONT START WHEN THEY ARE YOUNG.

THE "LHASA APSO/MALTESE MIX" IS A MUTT!!!!
THERE IS NO WAY TO TELL HOW BIG A MUTT IS GOING TO BE!!!!!!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS ON A "DESIGNER BREED" (AKA MUTT)!!!!!!
