Addiction presents as Bipolar,Borderline Personality Disorder, Schizophrenia, and other mental illnesses and if left untreated, YES, it can keep a person from working. Heck, it kept me from living!!! I got into a 12 step program and after a year, I am off ALL bipolar medication, pain pills and alcohol. I have absolutely NO symptoms of Bipolar. I can roll with the punches and I am interviewing for jobs. It's been over 7 years since my last one and I can't wait to work again!!
Life is great now. Get into a 12 step program and you will have a new way of life shown to you!
Best of Luck!

BP 1 in itself can keep u from substanstial employment for a long time..addiction makes it worse and harder to treat..the two together are considered a dual diagnosis...it will be hard to find a medication that treats BP 1 as long as you are addicted..they will work against each other but yes one or the other in itself can..

Yes.
And bipolar mixed with addiction sounds like undiagnosed Sugar Sensitivity. I think if you do some reading at http://www.radiantrecovery.com
you might recognize some symptoms
and find some welcome answers (and kind support).
