Not necessarily. There is really no way to "spot reduce" but by eating healthier and performing cruches or other ab workouts you can get a more toned look. Just doing crunches will not help at all.

yes but very little. crunches actually work out your lower back muscles more than they do your stomach so if you want to tone your stomach get what is called a noodle(sold at walmart, its a long foam tube) and put it under your arms and neck while you kick around the pool for a few hours. This will hurt a lot afterwards but it works out your stomach more than crunches ever would. Do this 3 times a week for a bout an hour and you will look great.

Cardio is the only way to lose fat. Increase muscle strength/tone with crunches, burn fat with cardio activity.

it's impossible to target a specific area to lose fat in. However, crunches can aid in toning the abdominal area. I strongly reccoment pilates for toning.

Not specifically there. They will burn calories in general but not only in the abs. They will strengthen and tone your abs though.

it's said that stomach muscles are the easiest muscles to tone. you can't see them, if you don't change your eating habits. cardio is a must.
