VII=7 and XII=12......if u take the top half of an X...it looks like a V

I get the feeling the Romans didn't do much multiplying. From what I've seen of Roman numerals, it seems to be an addition thing. Unless you're being literal, in which case half of XII = VI. You only removed half of the the X (ten), while still leaving both of the Is (one and one, for a total of two). Your question sounds like a joke, but just not a very funny one.

12 equals 7 when you cut XII with a horizontal line. You get VII at the the top portion.
