make sure that all outdoor hoses are drained and pipes are turned off so as not to freeze and bust.

I'm from California, Is the white stuff on top of mountains snow??? What's freezing mean?? The only white stuff around here comes from South America.

Might want to put down some rock salt where people are walking. Sometimes any leftover snow residue turns to ice without putting down the salt.

Leave your heat turned up in case you loose power your house will stay warm longer. Also what lights you left on in case you loose power your house won't light up in the middle of the night when you are sleeping.
