okay, so its in Long Island in New York
the speed limit is 55mph but i drove at 70mph
now when i got the ticket, at the bottom, the part that says 'YOU ARE HEREBY DIRECTED TO APPEAR IN THE....' is filled out with the date and address.

HOWEVER, on another white paper that came with it, it says that i can mail in the money (and not go to court) if i do so BEFORE my court date...

and then on that same paper, it says you are not able to plea guilty by mail if you are ordered to appear by court.

So my question is, is the scribble on the ticket that tell me the date and address of my appearance, the official order?????

plus does 'court date' that was mention the one written on my ticket??

well as far as I know you don't have to go to court I have had two tickets and I didn't go but here (in Oregon) if you do go the judge will automatically reduce your fines sometimes in half, but I don't think it is mandatory to be there just call and ask someone what your options are.

yes that is the official day and time and i suggest just paying it before time so you dont have to do the whole court thing
