Effexor:Wyeth labs......You should NOT be asking this Question to strangers!!!!Effexor is for treatment of Major Depressive Disorder. They make you tired?37.5 mg. capsule or tablet?capsule is extended release, tablet is faster. Are you sure it's "tired" or perhaps it's a "buzzed" feeling? It IS a small dosage. Please talk to your Doctor,as I've changed my mind about giving you any kind of advice........unless of course your really George Bush,in which case my advice is to take the whole bottle, and wash them down with an entire bottle of Bacardi 151. Sweetie, talk to your Doctor,I'd hate to think that there might be a nice, cool young Fraulein out there who may harm herself with some crackerjack advice from a sadist. I can't imagine what depression is like,as I am diagnosed with hyper-mania,and take my Seroquel at night,as it makes me feel like I smoked a J**** too many! Please talk to your Doc???????Promise?

75 mg/day is a pretty low, nearly non-therapeutic dose. It's okay to start with it and see where it goes, but apparently if it's making you that tired, it's not the med for you.
Taking two won't do it - you want to maintain a constant level, which is why you have to take it twice a day unless you get the time-release version..
Talk to your doctor. If 75mg is making you sleepy, then your doctor should try you on something else, because probably anything higher will just be worse.
It's very common to go through a few different kinds before you find one that works for you. It's rare to find the perfect anti-dep first time out.

I take 2 x 150mg (totalling 300mg) a day of Effexor XR which is supposed to be a little stronger than just plain Effexor. I take them both before breakfast with a glass of water. I dont think the total of 37.5mg would hurt you. I started out on 75mg, then 150mg so I couldn't see any problems with you taking a low dose together. Maybe check with your dr though beforehand, check up on google search for more info theres heaps on it. :)

Take as directed. If two times daily, probably need to spread doses out by eight hours. This is to ensure a continuous stream of the drug in your system. Give it a couple of weeks. If you're not feeling any better, the Dr may want to change the dose or try something else. There are many choices nowadays. I recommend Wellbutrin SR.

I would never advise changing the dose that your doctor has prescribed. It is possible to take it once a day but it is better to get a more therapuetic balance if you take it twice a day. Try to stick with it, it can take up 4 to 6 weeks before you start feeling back to normal. Weigh your pros and cons. Good luck

I take my Effexor 150 mg in the morning so I don't know if it would change my sleepness if I took it at night instead but yes you can take them at the same time.

Talk with your doctor before making any changes with depression meds - they work differently than "normal" meds. They take a while to build up in your system, and when you stop taking them they take a while (weeks) to leave your system. If this is the first depression med you've tried, talk to you doctor about trying something else.

a symptom of depression is fatigue, so maybe it is that. talk to ur doctor and tell him if it is fine to change the time of taking ur pills, i had to change the intake to the morning, because i couldn't sleep at night, anyway all persons have different reactions, it is better u talk to him rather than experimenting in your body, have a good day
