I have a question about Jewish tradition.?

We just saw the movie "The Nativity Story" today. Why did everyone make that funny noise with their mouths and tongues right after Elizabeth gave birth to John?

Was that in the movie or the audience? It sounds like someone was being rude, not necessarily a Jew.
