Dear Corey: Just browsing the category and saw your question. Also, saw your answer about deploying constantly since 9/11. I thought you were home for good! Didn't feel happy you were back "in" again. Anyways, to answer this question:
God is reached THROUGH the Holy Spirit Who was created for us - at the Separation. He resides inside each of us in our higher mind/spirit level - rather than at our lower human "ego" consciousness level. He sees our Eternity inside the folds of the Creator's essence (body) and He hears our thoughts and sees our images of earthly life as well ! He is the LINK that sees us in our Ultimate Reality and our Lesser Reality, simultaneously.
When we meditate or pray He is the One Who is listening. He is the Comforter and Guide. Our Conscience. Our intuitive-ness and our Inspirer. Between His duties and our brother Jesus' anointed role as Teacher, we are meant to be cared for throughout the time of the Separation. We did not go into the Separation alone! We are never alone. Not with the Holy Spirit residing where He IS located!
In "A Course in Miracles," The Holy Spirit is called the Appointed Friend. Different religions place Him in different positions, but the Course teaches He is INSIDE each and every one of us! It is not a matter of our feelling lonely because we haven't enough friends. It's because - our friends cannot give to us what we need. The lonliness, Corey, is WITHIN the human conscious level. The only relationship we were created to care about - is absent ( God) in this Separation. Our human relationships cannot give to us enough - without the "bridge" of the Holy Spirit to give to us THROUGH each other! It is a matter of the Holy Spirit being the Appointed Friend, by God ; for without Him, we are friendless. (While having friends.)
You see, our meditation or prayers are listened to by the Holy Spirit. He sends our thoughts directly to the Creator, for us. For only He and Jesus are purified enough to be in direct contact with God. What we have to say to Him is cleansed and made appropriate for Him to hear! God can speak to US directly - when He chooses direct Revelation for us. But, we speak to Him through the Holy Spirit. Due to the relationship we have been "given" with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, our needs are meant to be met. That is the intention of your Father. What God has appointed, has no substitute! Don't seek your friends as a substitute for Him.
For instance, can your friends react quickly for you? Can they do that by KNOWING what would happen under certain circumstances, and have the ability to guide you perfectly? Can your friends see your future and ordain, before it comes, what you should do in every circumstance? That prescience cannot be part of your human friends' attributes. It's the Holy Spirit who can do those things for you ! So we pray and we meditate - and WHEN we have learned to HEAR in return, we are filled up and the human lonliness is gone ; as the Father intended. Everything goes forth for US in a "heavenly" manner (heaven comes to earth) when we talk to the Holy Spirit and Jesus throughout the day. Muttering inwardly, to them, frequently. Using Them as our Best Friends - which is the appropriate set-up. Watching how the Holy Spirit inspires and works THROUGH our associates and friends, to fulfill OUR needs.
You have learned to HEAR Him when you realize your intuitiveness, your inspired thoughts are HIS - not yours, and when you understand He gives thoughts to you -often in your own voice - thoughts that you would not think yourself - you come to realize something else WITHIN you is doing the thinking ! Or, he may use His own non-tonal whispery Voice. We have to talk to Him. We have to listen for those thoughts, that Voice I just spoke of, to catch on there is something inside of us, that is not us ! Our brothers, through the human ego-mind, leave us hungry. God knew that. That is why He Created and sent the Holy Spirit to live within us. The Separation is no joke, Corey. It's serious business. Spiritually oriented people do not find a great amount of like-mindedness. Their spiritual thoughts are very prominent and often cause them to feel as if they are swimming upstream when most others are swimming downstream! Developing the relationship with the Holy Spirit, and Jesus, and thereby the Father, enables Them to bring appropriate friends of like-mindedness toward us. They place us, when we ASK for it, with those we most belong in the company of. But to receive the benefits of these Appointed Friends, we must develop the relationship of talking and listening often throughout each day. All thoughts, all seeming problems should be handed over to them. Then we listen for the guidance.
We keep talking through our mind to Them until the Connection has truly taken place. What a surprise that is !
And, everyone please know this - the answers are not always delivered on the spot - during your conversations. They often come to you later when you are peaceful and can HEAR. The answers can be momentarily delayed, or greatly delayed - although you will be told all you NEED to know prior to anything "bad" occurring. Sometimes the "answer" is someone coming toward you with some direction, advice or just "dropping" some tidbit to you. The Holy Spirit USES and sends others to us frequently! They don't even know they are being steered to do this by the Holy Spirit ! Hope this is helpful to someone. . ..
By the way, SONY has a huge Video Games Department. They have offices in Santa Monica, California at: 310/ 829-4989. Also, offices in Bend, Oregon at 541/ 312-5900. With your creative thought abilities, I think you would love designing video games. Call them and ask their requirements. Further, ask them what you should do to qualify for that field. Explain any limitations in entering college for study (grades, money etc.) and WHAT do THEY recommend you doing about entry into the field? What schools with certificates or degrees would they feel serious about? Do they develop designers themselves? Explain your creative mind and what you dream for yourself. Let them advise you.

Brother all I can say to you is that when you have come into contact with Love and Love being Christ then you are never the same. It is true God does take away lonliness but that is not his soul purpose. When you live love the fruits of Love that being joy and peace manifest themselves in your being.

God has placed the desire to believe and trust in Him in all of us. I believe that desire is the work of the Holy Spirit of God to draw all men to Himself. The trouble is, some think they can handle the life God gave them better then the perfect One can. God says thats rebellion. Beware, God's call is not forever. My advice is to repent of your sin, ask Jesus into your heart and try your best to do what He wants as best as you can.

It's not loneliness. It's the sense that the ultimate face of the universe can't possibly be one of meaninglessness and blind chance. Call it an intuition, if you like.
