this isn't really a fair question. Whats the life of a car? a washer machine? a toaster?

Ideally forever... but the good folks at LG generally back their product for 2 full years... which is twice the industry standard!

however you look at it, you'll probably only keep this tv for 5 or 6 years anyway before wanting a newer one.

Most plasma manufacturers claim that their panels have a half life of about 60,000 hours - this is the time it takes the screen to become half-bright from the day you bought it.
This is a lot of TV; about 20 years at 8 hours a day.
