Your very close friend has warrants out and has told you she evaded arrest by providing false information to the police.
There is an innocent victim here, her sister in law.
Get your friend to a LAWYER to discuss this. The lawyer can work a deal for her surrender. The prosecutor should be amenable to a deal in a case where she voluntarily surrenders AND clears up potential criminal issues regarding a third party (the sis in law).
Explain that you don't want to know another word of it. From the information provided, you are perilously close to being an accessory. The wrong move could push you over that line. Don't help her conceal this. Don't discuss it with her. You don't want to know a thing.

convinced, it truly is a hate crime and they should be charged. regrettably in spite of the undeniable fact that Catholics do no longer look to slot in with the dislike crimes criteria in accordance to regulation enforcement. If it develop into each person else they could be charged, you stated it your self. The regulation obviously states: "contained relating to a resources crime, the resources it extremely is the article of the crime, by means of actually or perceived race, colour, faith . . .". So the subsequent question may be WHY develop into those human beings no longer charged?. the easy answer is that is alright to attack Catholics and Anti Catholicism remains foremost in society even in 2009. merely look on the a number of solutions, ''it truly is only a wafer'' may they say the same about the Quran or Torah?. Or the same element taking position in a mosque or synagogue?. NO they does no longer.

That was so wrong on so many levels. Not only is the sister in law now an innocent victim (this is not only going to be hard to clear up but will take forever) but the "close friend" will now most likely (and she should) be hit with additional charges. I doubt she'll own up to it on her own. I mean think about it she tried to get out of trouble by lying so why would she?

The sister in law now has a record for something she did not do and if i was her i would kick the first girls behind. Plus you're friend will be charged with a false informing charge along with her other charges and if she gave the false name during a felony crime then it will be a felony false informing. You are right to get a lawyer maybe he can get some of the charges reduced if she turns her self in and throw her self on the mercy of the court. Good luck and please let us know how it turns out, i am dying to hear how this one turns out.

That was a very stupid thing for her to do. Now she will go to jail a lot longer than she would have it she had been honest. There's nothing a police officer hates worse than a liar. If her sister-in-law is questioned at all by the police, she needs to be completely honest or she'll be arrested as well. She has dug herself a very deep hole.

I believe this is a form of identity theft. I would tell the sister in law before this really ends up a mess. I agree with previous posters you need to choose your friends more carefully...If she would do that to her own family whether it be by marriage or not, imagine how disposable you will bewhen she is desperate and needs some chum to throw to the sharks
Good luck!!

I would report it to the police immediately. I would be concerned that since I knew about it, I could be charged as an accessory if I didn't report it. I feel really badly for her sister-in-law. She didn't deserve the headache and hassle that is coming her way.

The person that they used their name will be cleared when they see the fingerprints don't match. But the only way this other person will have any problem is if they get arrested. You know u are the company u keep so I'd distanced myself from them.Good luck
