I would avoid it. This car depreciated 80% of its value in 6 short years. They are not very reliable at all, and the hopped up Ford Taurus V6 in it was nothing special. They are fairly nice vehicles, and the automotive press generally said nice enough things about them back when they were new (I am sure it is way nicer than your Cavalier).
They have since been discontinued, and were heavily discounted even when new. This was Ford's BMW fighter, and it was generally considered to have be a decent, but flawed effort. You will probably have electrical problems, lots of squeaks and rattles, and will still be financing a car that will be on borrowed time once it gets into the 120k mile area.

Now if the base price is 7450.00 sounds like a good deal. Big thing that you need to have checked out is the heads in the engine, and the transission in these. you have the right as a buyer to take it to another mechanic, that you use on a regular basis to have it checked out. most places want at least 50.00 to do a inspection. If it was me I would take it some where, and have a compression check done on the motor, and have everything else checked. They are a nice car the better ones are the ones with the v/8 a little bit more dependable. Um, but if you really want this car, that is what I would do. And for sure 50.00 is a small price to pay vs buying the car and right away having to stick a grand or more into it. You can check the value of the car at www.nada.com

It sounds like a good deal. The mileage is a little high,77,000 being average, but the price is about a $1200 below average from a dealer. Looks like a nice ride.

If you can E-mail me the VIN, I can give you the whole history of the vehicle from the time it was new. Too good of a deal is NOT a good deal!!!
