Don't you wish there was something more we could do to these people to make hell seem, well, more real?
I say we bring back some good old burning at the stake for these bastards..

kim C: that's really sick. This is why I am so opposed to Christianity, that mentality you just espoused is so fundamentally wrong on so many levels.
But then again, your mentality would justify the stake burning as a punishment from society to death: you know, just incase they WERE forgiven on that odd chance.

Since heaven and hell don't exist,
It's even more reason to bring back the noose, the lashings and the stake for people like this.

Girl, you need to let go of your hatred.

Yes, it's wrong to rape and murder, but it's also wrong to wish ill-will upon another. (Vengeance is mine saith the Lord.)

Concentrate on something positive and positive things will come back your way.

Peace!

While I understand the righteous anger you feel, I do not wish they burn in hell. However, concerning children, the Bible makes it very clear what is the fate of those who harm children. Translating loosely, as I cannot remember the exact verse, the Bible says that whoever harms a little one, it would be better for them to be dropped into the sea with a weight around their neck. I will leave the judging up to God. As a Christian, we are not the ones to judge whether they spend eternity apart from God ("HELL"). If someone who committed this atrocity was sincerely sorry for what they did and gave their life to Christ, they have the same right as every other Christian. God is not a respector of person.

On a strictly human level I certainly do wish they would burn in hell forever. Just like I find myself wishing that God would send a lightning bolt through the computer terminals of some of the people who post profane things about Jesus here on Y/A. But then the Holy Spirit reminds me that we are all born prisoners of sin in a fallen world and that it is better to wish that each person would repent of their sins, turn to Christ and be healed, and go on to do good for the rest of their life here on earth.

Some rapist/murderer who goes to hell doesn't by that fate undo the bad things that they did here on earth. All that does is satisfy our human desire to see people who hurt other people get hurt themselves. That's a very natural and normal desire but a spiritual response is to admit that each one of us has done things that deserve punishment, even if it was only hurting someone's feelings with harsh words, and to be grateful that we have been forgiven and given a chance to do good instead and to hope that people whom we consider to be far worse are also given that opportunity.

I hope that they work through this negative karma and build good karma in its place. I would not want anyone to suffer forever. Instead I hope for the cessation of suffering altogether.

That is not to say that these people should not be punished. Incarcerate them and give them the rest of their lives to reflect upon what they have done. If we as suggested, burn them at the stake, then how are we any better than they are?

WHAT IF they ask for forgiveness? God forgives ALL, if they ask. Of course there are consequences to pay but yes they can be forgiven and live in heaven. EDIT: I just hope that you never make a mistake...I also forgot to mention that you are viewing it as the world sees this issue, not as God sees it. Jesus, forgave the criminals being crucified beside him on the cross. They were assured to be going to heaven, even though their lives had been spotted by evil ways. Maybe you should speak with God more and open your heart, just a little.

I think they are already in hell, that's why they want to hurt people. They want to spread their evil and pain. The Devil goes through people.
In addition, contrary to what Bad Liberal says, evil people do not have faith for if they did they would not do the things they do. Just for the simple fact that they would feel content with themselves and the world that they were accepted by God and always would be on heaven and earth.

I don't believe in hell, and that's why I believe they should have bad punishment here on earth. I'm all in favor of cutting their ***** off.
And people who think that they can repent and be off the hook, shut up. You're saying a good Atheist person will burn in hell, but a child molester can be like "forgive me" and live in paradise for all eternity? That's the most warped moral system I've ever heard.

I think they already go to hell and get locked in a room with your kid that bugs me at the supermarket bugging everyone with their, "I want I want" and "Mom can I" thinking they're in heaven because they have every sex toy to use on your little Billy or Suzy, but then realizing once they've plum tuckered them out and turn on the TV and see only endless Facts of Life episodes so that they realize they are both in hell, the child and the rapist. The child for doing all the annoying things and the rapist for doing what he did. And just to make it clear, the rapist's hell is the endless Facts of Life and your annoying child.

I don't think we have to worry at all about these things. Divine Love knows exactly what the wage of sin is and the penalty to be paid. The last farthing must be paid. Knowing this, we can move to better places of thought, and leave evil behind forever.

Your just a christian hater. Why don't you paint with a broad brush ok? Lets define an entire faith by one person. That is intelligent. Let's see...I can do that too. I will judge all muslims according to what the 9/11 terrorists did and define mormons according to that cult leader that married off underage girls illegally...and I can judge all non christians according to how you act.....a short sighted bigot. Thank God i'm a christian and not YOU!
