When you drive, I know you're supposed to wave your hand when someone lets you in to the adjacent lane (for example, when you're stopped behind an accident and need to switch lanes) but when else are you supposed to thank them? (e.g. if the lane is ending, and the person next to you is driving slow, do you wave your hand to say thank you after you enter the lane?)

Pretty much it comes down to how you feel at the time..
If you feel a thank you wave is needed then wave.

At times i get let in .. without really asking for it.. Like nudging forward into the spot.
So i do wave to say thank you.. so they know i appreciate the effort.

If i have to push in .. i don't bother waving..
Changing lanes.. i rather keep my hands on the wheel..
So i keep waves to slower speeds.

Wave a thank you whenever you really feel someone did something nice for you. If the person slowed down for you then yes, if he was just driving slow to begin with, no. Use your head then your hand.

2 beeps will do right after you switched lanes. If your car is not tinted, you can do 2 beeps and a wave. Ü

Any time they show any curtesy. Any time someone lets you in.
