I don't mean to sound mouthy but,,,you read the bible twice? And what? that somehow makes you enlightened? Most catholics read the bible all their lives and still don't have all the answers. so you see how strange it sounds for you to refer to twice?

As for my answer:
life is a serious as you want to make it. 75% of what we get upset over amounts to nothing of importance down the road.

No, I don't think there is. I'm an atheist, but I agree with some religious people that there are some questions that can only be meaningfully treated as a matter of faith. I think this is one of those questions.

Taking life seriously doesn't exclude playfulness, or taking pleasure in the absurdity of it all, though - quite the opposite.

Every truly 'spiritual' person I have met has been, at heart, playful.

I don't know why that is, but it tells me we should never be too serious.

That said, they were also capable of utter and complete seriousness, so... there you go.

Now, if what you are asking is should we take life at all seriously, I would say definitely. I have my own reasons for this, but I think it is very important to take some things about life very seriously.

No. Life is only like a dream, only to wake up someday and realise we've been just dreaming. There is no reality to life. So that completely stops me from taking it seriously.

nope! everything is a joke in this world. just laugh along and be entertained.

when people die, others cry their eyes out as if it's the end of the f*cking world! i noticed that rich people do not cry as much during funerals because they have lots of money. only peasants bawl their eyes out because there's one less person to help with paying the f*cking bills. hehehe...

Nope, no evidence at all. It doesn't feel like "ultimate reality" to me...just like a sort of play pen. I still like to push all the buttons just to see what they do.

Life is unrelenting comedy, therein lies the tragedy of it.
