I've had cats for years, but I'm always paranoid about UTI's and such. She is a 2-3 y/o female and lately has been sleepy and not up to playing aggressively like she has before. She is also not meowing at me as much (aka bossing me around). Still eats and drinks and I can't see any blood in the urine or excessive straining.

Could it just be the weather change? I took her to the vet and her temp is normal and the dr said she doesn't feel any enlarged bladder.

Thanks!

I am glad that you have taken your cat to the vet's already. UTI's can be very painful, but they are deadly to male cats, females cannot be plugged like a male kitty. With my cats, the first sign of any infection is they urinate outside the box or inappropriately. As long as she is eating normally, I wouldn't be concerned unless another system begins. If she does stop eating, call your vet right away. They are usually very sick if they stop eating.
Good luck.

It doesn't sound like a UTI, but if she's not herself, perhaps she's feeling a bit under the weather. It'd probably be a good idea to see your vet again, and look at other possibilities.
Maybe she's settling in for the winter... I know I am LOL

good luck with your kitty :)

You don't say if you are in the U.S. but I recently noticed (at Walmart of all places) that there is a special litter that you can get that if the cat has a UTI it will turn a certain color. Something like that might be helpful.

Also at 2-3 years old, she is leaving adolescence and being a grownup, lady cat. She might just be settling down into her adulthood.

Hope she's not sick!

She is probably on her 'days of the month' it can definitely be the weather , but sometimes they feel their humans feelings too and if there's someone close to her at your house that is a little depressed it could be that. She is just sharing feelings and you might not know it. I think as long she is eating well and the vet said she is alright then she is ok. When something wrong is going on they usually show you what it is.

If she's peeing ok and her bladder is normal size, and there's no blood and no straining, then I think you can rule out a UTI. How about her intestines ? Has she been going regularly and does it look normal ? She could have ingested something that didn't agree with her. Did the vet have any other thoughts for you ?

probably
my cat did have a uti
she couldnt pee at all
she was squating everywhere
it was so sad
went to the vet
she was treated with anti-biotics
your cat just sounds like she is just ttired or the weather change
and the vet would have done testing if he suspected a uti

Since the vet cannot find anything wrong, she may be ready to go into heat, or just getting the winter blahs. I wouldn't worry about her but if she continues this much longer you should check with the vet again.

Did the vet run any blood tests? My cat did this and it turned out that she was diabetic. If this behavior continues I would take her in again to have a more thorough exam. Good luck!

It probably is the season. If you live in where it just turned winter, she probably is just be a little lazier and trying to keep warm. If it turned summer, she is probably just trying to enjoy herself and not bother you.

PLus, if your vet said she was fine, I would say....

SHE'S FINE!!!!
