Just took a native healing & medicine class at the university. The professor said to use St. John's Wort. I think you find it at Wal Mart.

Another thing I like are the Phillips light bulbs. They are supposed to bring in the proper colors of the sunlight for people who suffer from "seasonal depression".

I use the lights. I like the way the room looks. I could not get these at WM. I had to go to Meijer.

As a sufferer and A student of psychology i could propose which you get lots of:- workout:- a pair of million/2 hour greater an afternoon than time-honored first of all and build it up. clean air:- sunshine particularly via fact S.A.D. could make warning signs worse - a minimum of quarter-hour outdoors an afternoon B group supplementations:- to help triumph over paranoia and a great style of different depressive warning signs Omega 3:- is amazingly important for ideas applications and could aid you think of greater needless to say and avert temper swings. it is all i'm able to think of of for now. in spite of the undeniable fact that it is genuinely conceivable to start feeling greater useful through weight-alleviation plan and workout (study have shown). or perhaps taking supliments besides the actuality that those are no longer recommended for long term use, so attempt to paintings the supplementations and so on into your weight-alleviation plan in case you are able to. The final time I had it I took the medicine for a pair of months just to get the inducement to make issues better out nonetheless - and that worked. So do no longer rule it out - notably while you're no longer getting consequences and different approach's are not moving it.

I tried medications for my depression for 3 years - they kinda helped, but only kinda. I stopped taking meds (because I was trying to get pregnant) and started seeing a therapist a few months ago, and I'm finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. So I'd suggest seeing a therapist, he/she can work with you and help you find a way that works for you.

Personally, I'd stay away from herbal remedies - some of them are worse than the meds doctor's prescribe, and they aren't regulated by the FDA.

Regular exercise has helped me a little bit, as has having a "plan of attack" for how I'm going to get things done and get out of my depression.

Two immediate ways that come to mind are:

Keep busy - keep a journal or talk out your feelings
Exercise - try to take walks of about 30 mins each day.
