the notion of "I am" in all of us - even those who are atheist? Isn't this the one thing that make us all the same whether we believe in god or not?

As an atheist this is the one thing that makes me question my (non) belief. Knowing that "I am" leads me inescapably to the belief that "you are" and "he is": that human beings are not just complex biological machines, but there is someone at home in each of us. I can't prove it: I have to take this as a matter of faith.

Consciousness remains the great mystery of biology.

By the way, there's someone at home in a dog, too.

God ...alias "I AM" is not in everyone. Only born again believers. Adam was created in God's image, but his children are born after Adam's kind....namely fallen. We bare some of God's image but a pathetic excuse from what we would have looked like had Adam and Eve obeyed God.

Yes. I came across this idea when i was a kid, I sometimes fail to understand how ppl can fight over God when in reality god is inside us.

That actually doesn't have anything to do with religion.

We are just animals with intelligence.
