Ok, I have some fake fluff snow type stuff around my christmas tree, and my two cats are trying to eat it! I know that cats don`t like citrus smell, so if i were to put some clemintine peel around the fluff, would the cats be unattracted to it? I`m pretty much asking if clemintine peel would work instead of orange peel (i don`t have any oranges at the moment) Please Help!!

Citrus smells can be aversive to cats, but not all. Lemon tends to be the most effective deterrent, particularly lemon scented disinfectants. Moth balls are also great for warding off feline attacks - you might be able to bury one or two in the base of the decor, few enough that you can't smell but your kitties' more sensitive noses can.

If smells don't do a good job keeping them out of the forbidden fluff, you can try taste-deterrents. Bitter Apple spray or like-products can be spritzed on it. I've found that deodorant is particularly foul - the aerosol kind would work here - a thicker coating might be very effective, and oh the fresh scent.

Good luck with your kitties. I know it's a real pain in the bottom when they tear up your decorations, so I hope you get some relief soon!

If you want to keep the fake snow then go to the pet store and get a bottle of bitter apple cats hate it.
it is not the scent cats do not like but the taste.

Nothing works short of sweeping up all the snow. If ingested, it is toxic so watch your cats carefully.
