Greatest fighter of all time is SRR, but, Ali is the greatest, period. Manny Pacquiao is in number one on my p4p rankings with Martinez coming close as for over rated fighters id say Maidana, haye, Alvarez (though hes still young) Boxing is a great sport, the greatest sport. But it could maybe make the main stream if there were less PPV's and more fights were shwn on network tv and also if the best in the devision always fought each other. Boxing IS my favourite sport, i cant tell you why cause honestly i dont really know. I started boxing 2 years ago just for fitness then my coach got my into sparring, now i got some amateur fights and my goal is to go to the olympics ( i am 14) but ever since i started fighting i started loving boxing

When you talk about sport you have to start with boxing what other sport requires so may skills to compete first you have to have the will to compete and the heart to seep into the ring with another man you know nothing about secondly you have to be in physical shape from head to toe you must have stamina to throw punches for a whole fight you have to avoid punches and you have to take punches and you have to be able to think under duress you have to fight pass failure and you must control you emotions be for the fight and during the fight so your mind has to be even stronger than your body this is a good question because no matter how dumb we say Mike Tyson and Leon Spinkes are they have some thing that few people have and that is boxing intelligence so when you see a champion fighter you are looking at a brave gladiators what other sport where the odds of you coming out of competition the same way you went in There are a lot of serious health issues involved when you fight how many of us are willing to put our self at that risk for all the world to see

It is one of my favorite sports in it's purest form. unfortunately, the sport is totally corrupt. It is run by promoters who make decisions based on what makes them the most money personally, not what is in the interest of fans or the fighters themselves. There is no governing body that has any authority over the sport. It's a shame. Fights that fans really want to see, rarely happen. I would guess that each year there are only a couple fights that I really look forward to.
I think it is the toughest sport to compete in and the athletes that do, are the best athletes in the world. You have to be in amazing shape, particularly at the lower to middle weight levels to compete. If it is judged and refereed fairly, it is one of the purest sports, just one man against another. It used to be, that being the heavyweight champion of the world was one of the most reveared titles in all of sport. Now, most people probably couldn't even tell you who the current champ is, partly because there's like 5 different champs, and partly because the sport is so corrupt that many people don't care about it anymore.

It is truly the most brutal sport known to man its real not fake like RASSLIN or totally barbaric, like the No holds barred crap, what you never see about the boxer, is all the hours of solitary training ,all the ring hours and all the punishment that the brain takes. Trying to make weight before a fight. Giving up so much to be in the ring.
I had 62 fights as a light heavy weight and to this day I still have ringing in my ears, tinnitus.
Its a beautiful sport to watch, a perfectly timed, and thrown punch is like a batter hitting the long one, like a golfer sinking a 25 foot putt, like a football player breaking tackles and running for a touchdown, or like a gymnast hitting the perfect flip..............its exciting and its heart breaking......I love the sport of boxing.

I believe that in the earlier times, boxing was designed not as a sport but merely as a competition among males to somehow prove which "MAN" is better than another..... a display of power and dominance among "MEN" and all those things feminists would describe as imature ridiculuous and annoyingly "MAN". But after many years, boxing has evolved into a better form. Well, yes..... It still does involve power vs. power in the ring but this time, rules were set to make the fight more discilined and "humane". Above all, like other sports, it enhances a balanced spirit, a sound body, and a disciplined personality. It's no longer about doing one's best to defeat the opponent in the rig but more on being the best of an individual whether inside or outside the ring

Awesome sport, gets the adrenaline pumping, hearing the cheers from the crowd. Especially when it's you in the ring, nothing compares.

Barbaric. With all that we know about cranial trauma, we still allow people to go into a ring and inflict concussions on each other to entertain the masses.
We're no better than the folks who watched the gladiators do their thing in the colosseums back in the day.
