Maybe because they like it and a little relaxation and a few laughs are part of perfection in a day.

For much the same reason that christains try to convince us that their way is better - they really seem to think that the other side is missing a vital piece of information and if they could just phrase it in such a way as to finally make sense, then they would help another person get onto the right path.
Peace!

Fun mostly
I am always amazed at the idiotic things I hear about science on here too. I think I'll scream if I have to tell one more person that we didn't evolve from monkeys or have them not get that if something is a billion light years away, it took the light a billion years to get here.
It is also funny how many think that we deny god but not the devil.

I'm a Christian, however, atheists are also human beings. They have just as much right coming to the R and S as the next person.

I find that amusing because I always ask myself...
Why do believers always want to try to convert nonbelievers and 'sell' their religion to you when they should be practicing in private? It advocates to love thy neighbor as thyself, and if they practice in private they will be rewarded in public, yet they condemn people who do not believe as they do and feel the need to tell homosexuals how to live their lives and who to love and attempt to put their beliefs into our government and 'shoves' it into their faces.
(note that I do not think ALL believers do this. those who don't I THANK YOU! Have a great Christmas!)
I also come to this section because I find it interesting to look at the questions and answers and feel the need to debunk believers false opinions about "those atheists".

Some of the theist stuff on here is quite funny! I check in every once and a while... mostly for fun, and sometimes to offer information to people who ask bright questions.

uhh, uhm, cuz you all keep asking inflammatory questions and lumping us all into a catagory. one more time...i'm native american, your religion didn't originate on my continent. i have no frame of reference to christianity, except negative actions regarding my ppl. i am loyal to my native roots and cultural beliefs. i don't expect and demand that non-ndn ppl follow my ways, so why can't you live and let live?
and i'm not coming into a specific catagory...your questions are all over answers.
oh yeah, and i have christian friends. they respect my beliefs, i respect yours and theirs.

I've already brought three people to their senses. I'm feeling that's worth the trouble. Plus it's fun choking fundies on their own hypocrisy. Any problem with any of that?

You need not concern yourself about how I spend my time. It's mine to spend any way that I chose.
