He can say divorce is bad and not casting stones, he can tell us to forgive and love our enemies....etc.
But then he can't drop a hint or give a straitforward philosophy on criminal activity and abuses? abortion (done then, Aristotle gave his opinion on it), molestation and rape (kings took slave boys, eunics), abusing animals having compassion for animals, How about domestic violence? What about murder? What about Capital Punishment? Why was Jesus opinionless on things which were common then as they are now?

Why didn't Jesus say: Slavery is Bad?
He could have saved us years of Southern bigots referring to the bible in defense of keeping their slaves.

Jesus is not the author of the Bible. The bible was written by others who related a wide variety of stories to teach a specific way of life - and it has been modified to suit the leaders again and again throughout the last 2000 years. It's not a transcript of Jesus' life and everything he said. I thought this question was going to be about why Jesus was not fat...lol
Peace!

Apparently they weren't issues that needed to be addressed as much as the ones He did address. They may have been obeying the Law in those areas, but had gotten it wrong in others. Jesus addressed what was most important to address at the time, we can still know what He thinks about capital punishment by looking at the Old Testament, since the moral law and many of the punishments for those crimes are still valid.

Jesus didn't write the Bible, men did. Along with the fact that it was written 200 yrs after he died and has been re-translated hundred of times for who knows what reason...maybe so it could fit the agenda of the church, they want power and they want people to view thier laws as God's law when it's doubtful that it's even how he feels.

The papacy is the oldest Intuition in the world .- How could it survived without the grace of God & the guidance of the Holy Spirit.........The Holy Spirit did not convert to Islam in 610AD or Lutheranism in 1517AD or Calvinism in 1540s AD ...There's no comparisons..check out this site;http://www.catholic-defense.com ..................The truth is , they Catholics give us the first Bible..the rest of religions intrepid it differently & formed counterfeit religion's groups...which inturn give us supermarket christens;.......pick & choose laws to suit themselves [ cool & new age stuff ] but has nothing to do with the scriptures....let me know what you think....Jack

Yeah I rekon you is right sissy!! I think it was a cop out to say to love your neighbor as yourself and to love the Lord your GOD was enough. He should of wrote all those laws out because we can't figure out that rape, incest and pedophilia is a wrong. It would be criminal to think that the Holy Spirit would be able to lead us and the law makers to all truth. How silly is that? Its all crap anyway so why are you even asking? LOL

Do you tell your children every detail of what they should and should not do? When they do something they know they shouldn't have done, such as tell them not smoke cigarettes, but they smoke Pot because he didn't specifically say not to, is it okay?
