i know its important to remove the head of the tick along with the body. if its not removed properly, it can get infected. i know i need to use tweezers. i was taught to burn the site of the bite to make sure the head is out and burn the tick. then swab the wound with alcohol. i didnt know if there were other ways though?

Use the lit end of a cigarette. That way the whole tick will come out.

cover it with petroleum jelly... It will soffucate the tick and it will try and remove itself...
If it's still there, do not use tweezers... Doing so will only pull the body off the head and leave it stuck in there... Use a credit card, or a flat side of a knife blade... scrape it over where the tick is going from the head to the tail... This should push the tick out of the skin instead of pulling it...

Pull it off with a paper towel and then light a match blow it out and while its still hot burn the cut where the tick was. Because a tick leaves its head inside of the dogs skin

Strike a match, then blow the match out, and apply the hot end of the match to the part of the tick that is sticking out and he will slowly back out. Then once he is out, kill him and wipe the hole where he was with an alcohol swab.

What is basically being said here is put ANYTHING (heat,oil,alcohol) on the back end of the tick, the tick can not breath therefor backs out.....

Put olive oil on the tick, it works too, and it loweres the chance of you accedently burning your baby
Burn or flush the tick afterward

If you put nail polish on the tick, it will die, then you can pick it out.
