Who belives global warming is happening? I know there is hordes of evidence to support it, but, in MANY cases, of repressed information, there is proof of it NOT happening.

Does anyone know where there are places that have studies to support each side of the argument?

I remember reading about all those ice cliffs that slide off, that you see tapes of, is filmed from these two or three spots. Only. Nowhere else does ice come off like that. Also, that the poles are each getting colder, along with the sea levels hardly rising, and in some areas, not rising at all. South America, as I read, has not raised any. As Micheal Chricton said is "State of Fear" : "It's hard to say your country is flooding from sea water when sea levels are all the same." Or, something like that.

Yet, all the information supporting warming is important, the hottest times in US history, 8 out of 10 have happend in the last 10 years.

Any thoughts?

My name is Rafael Lomena. I write from Alicante (Spain). I am independent investigator on the Accelerated Global Heating and want to share with all something that can turn out from interest to fight this phenomenon.
I believe that the main cause of the Accelerated Global Heating is in the great and increasing forest fires that are whipping to the planet in the last years.
My complete report is in: http://inicia.es/de/rlv/clim.htm
If they do not understand the Spanish they can use the automatic translator that will find in the main page of site:

Thanks to all.

The green house gases do not compute. The no. 1 was CO2 and they were saying that it has increased 30% wrong, that is false. I wore a monitor for years and it red 1 to 2 parts per million. There is a much worse lie and the problem is we have green plants that take in CO2 and give us back oxygen, Go measure it it is very low and the plants are doing a great job.
I live in Texas and last week we broke the record low which was 22 for that date ,we dropped ti 19. The 22 had held the record for 100 yrs.
If the CO2 is not true I don't think global warming is true.
keep looking for the truth as I see it they think we are using too much fuel and they want to tell u how much fuel that u can use.

fetty_pet - The questions raised about global warming can be answered by researching reputable scientific sources. Reputable?? Like naysayers on every contentious subject ( evolution, holocaust, flouridation, etc.) anyone who WANTS to believe something can find someone who expresses his or her point of view ( especially on this democratic world wide web.)

A recent article in "The New Yorker" and many articles in "Physics Today" (published by the American Physical Society) delve into the details. Sure, you have perhaps read that there was a period of warming 15 to 20,000 years ago and more in the millions of years past.
Is this similar to air pollution and the notion that air pollution has not occured or that it is not caused by smokestack emissions and auto exhaust ( the latter the largest.)
By asking your question you show a concern. Now ask another question: " If global warming is happening and human actions ( or lack of same) contibute and I can accept the evidence that the majority of the scientific community offers to substantiate this position, then - what am I willing to do to make the globe a better place for our descendants. Only when a signifant number of ordinary people accept the reality of a situation and take action can change occur. Change may be effected by individual actions that can include life style adjustments, recylcling, conservation of resources, ballot box, letter writing, blogaloney, etc.
bY ASKING YOU HAVE TAKEN AN IMPORTANT STEP. But what is your GUT feeling on this matter??

Global warming now more called global climate change, because it is not necessary warmer. However the global mean temperature has risen by one degree of Fahrenheit in the last century.
And this is a fact.
Climate change will hit the US very hard, causing more severe storms, floods, forest fires etc.
This is a fact too.
Five minutes. That’s how long George W. Bush and John Kerry spent discussing the environment during the three televised debates of the 2004 presidential campaign. It doesn’t seem to be an issue that keeps American politicians awake at night.
But they will be.

My daughter is reading a book by Al Gore recommended by her teacher, but I wonder if Al Gore is the most qualified authority. I'm sure he quotes valid authorities, like NASA's two scientists, but you can get two scientists from anywhere to say most anything. Many have different studies to show different data, I guess. I'm interested in what answers you get that's why I'm writing. I live by the ocean and have not noticed any change in the tides or boundaries. Are the earth's temperatures actually warmer by 3 or 4 degrees Centigrade than 100 years ago? Today is actually rather cold! It is something worth watching and knowing how we can help. I do take my plastics and paper products to the recycling bin. We should even do that with Christmas wrap and I believe there are places that recycle the materials in natural Christmas trees.
