Can girls have a purely physical hook up without falling for the guy they get with?

been w gf for a year and a half. she goes out with friends from college, girls night out. usually they goto a club or a bar.

then i learned that b4 me she used to hook up (grind dance, make out w 'hotties', not typically go all the way) when she'd go with this bunch and has cheated on at least one guy this way. i resisted the urge to become controlling over mere suspicion - but i started looking at the way she dressed differently, etc.

so, i concluded that she could be cheating on me, and i would never know. i became resigned, and started to have fun with the idea. about 6 months ago, i acted on it - before she went out, i gave her a condom to keep in er purse, telling her i'm not suggesting she use it, but just in case . . . she took it, and from that point on there has been a don't ask/ don't tell policy thats turned into a hot game, and an understanding that nothing will affect us.

Yes, girls can do this without attachment. There are emotional ones yes that need a relationships just like there are guys like that. Don't try to delve into it fun is fun to girls to nothing more nothing less. If she is going out with friend and doing that, that is part of the scene as you well know...sex. If you are fine with her possibly sleeping around as I could see could be happening since she took the condom and you are perfectly fine with that more power to you.

Absolutely! I am married now, but when I was single I would go out alot with friends and "hook up" - for me it was always just physical - I was never looking for a relationship with any of these guys - it was just fun - no strings attached kind of thing.

you may not care for my opinion because i am the mother of teenage girls. but i was also young once and i made lots and lots of blunders and have been learning and learning all my life.

i think that people who say they have sex just for fun are actually a bit messed up, just like people who do drugs for fun or get really wiped out drunk, for fun. Its not really fun. It is self abuse.
And so is demeaning yourself and other people for cheap thrills.
If you actually love and care about this girl, stop encouraging her to degrade herself.

She was someones baby once and theres about an 80% chance she'll be someones mother one day. One day she is going to discover that she is actually worth caring about and you are not shaping up like much of a fond memory.

The world is a nasty enough place already isn't it? Lets try to care for and respect one another.

of course it's possible. one-night stands doesn't really mean anything.. it's just... that. period...

but being in an open relationship does, of course, puts you in a disadvantage. she could find someone new along the way... because you keep on tolerating it... she's abusing it.

try having her as your own.
