To have faith is to willfully stop asking questions. It is a behavior that has not helped humans out very well. For thousands of years we thought diseases were God's way of getting us back for reasons we really couldn't concieve of. Once we stopped having faith it was God's hand, cures started getting discovered. Now the planet can support more people than ever in its history, and we are living longer too boot. Of course this depends on your regional resources.

God's followers certainly want that. Many conservative groups insist that the Bible is the only book anyone needs to read. No questioning of proclaimed dogma is permitted, and no explanations for dogmatic practices are given. The Chrisitan faith seems to actively encourage willful ignorance, deliberately discouraging investigations and learning in sciences they don't like and trying to even rewrite history to favor their mythologies.

Another long one, get ready...
First, look at what happened when Adam and Eve did find about the difference between good and evil! The whole perfect world they were living in got cursed! Sin entered the world, and tons of people fell away! I've heard people say that it would have been better for God to have NOT given us freewill, for us to be puppets on the end of a string. If we were attatched to God in that way, at least we'd be brain-washed smileys! But we're not, because that's not the kind of love God desires. He desires love of our choosing.
Second, because God did give us freewill and the freedom of choice, we can think for ourselves. Who told you we couldn't? That's not Biblical or true. And who said he didn't want us to study the angels? That's not true either.
Third, he DID give us the ability to use our minds! He doesn't want us to be ignorant, he just wants us to love him and be with him. He wants us to understand him, and when we arrive in Heaven, I believe we will understand. Maybe not everything, but we will understand.
Therefore, because God DOES give us freewill and choice, intellect and thought processes, we Christians respect him more than you can imagine. Don't jump to conclusions about the Christian faith before you've actually researched it. Not all Christians are firm in their faith, and fact few actually read the Bible. Just the name doesn't qualify someone for eternity. I know you will resent me saying this, but go buy a Bible and find a good pastor. Ask him your questions and read it for yourself. If you have anymore questions, e-mail me at lyssacm@aol.com.
God Bless. God wants us to understand, not to be ignorant.

I consider Jacques. Adam & Eve knew what they have been doing replaced into incorrect, yet they did it besides. that's what's so surprising approximately God - he knew his little ones could disobey and someplace down the line finally end up crucifying his son, yet he created us besides! He gave us the potential to p.c. and picture for ourselves - he did no longer prefer us all being little robots, which quite could be approximately lack of awareness. And confident, I even have faith that we will forget approximately our lives as they have been right here on earth whilst we get to heaven. yet easily...you would be in paradise! Do you relatively think of it may relatively be paradise if we furnish each and each of the luggage from this life into the subsequent?

Why always accused Adam and Eve got sinned by eating the fruit of knowledge of good and evil? Why the Bible say, God punished the two sinners? Why the Bible say, from Adam sweat, they can only eat? Why it also say Eve will suffer pain to give her birth to her children?
If work to persevere man's future is punishment to God, therefore, industry is punishment.
If pain of giving birth of mother to her child is punishment, therefore, punishment is also extended to all animals, which are also got its painful experience giving birth of its offspring.
Churches perpetuating the doctrine that man got sinned because Adam and Eve disobeyed God's Commandment is wrong.
Having more children means more painful birth, so the doctrine of "Go on and replenish earth is wrong, because more birth means more punishments."
Wealthy achievers because of their perseverance and industries are big sinners.
Churches made God poor God.

No, God does not want us to be ignorant.
He wants us to grow in the true knowledge of created reality and of Himself.
He wants us to grow in wisdom.
Growth in wisdom corresponds with growth in God's grace.
However, what God is against is a vain knowledge, a mere cleverness in life to get what we want, that is opposed to true wisdom.
There is a difference between cleverness and intelligence.
Intelligence is the capability of knowing the truth of things.
Cleverness, on the other hand, is the skill of manipulating things (either words or situations) to get what you want in life (often against the principles of justice).
The knowledge of good and evil forbidden to Adam and Eve was a knowledge of evil by *experiencing* it.
That is a knowledge that not even God has.
So when the devil said that God wanted to keep for Himself what He wished to deny Adam and Eve, he was actually telling a half truth.
When the devil tells us something, it is never the full truth, but is merely a scheme of his to follow his ways.

Lol, your assuming alot. First of all, God didn't want us to be ignorant. He just did want us "to get ahead of ourselves." That is, he wanted us to learn things in the proper course of time, as we (mankind) matured spiritually. However, Eve and Adam jumped the gun and did things out of order, taking it upon themselves to learn in their own time frame. This is where the problem arose. Another thing, ALL OF MANKINDS PROBLEMS CAN BE TRACED BACK TO THE ANGELS. ALL. Without interference from the angels, Adam and Eve may have had time to have perfect children. But, because of heavenly intereference, we will never know. This is why messing with angels, heirarchies and other spiritual things is dangerous.
God wants us to learn all about him, but it has to be as children learn about their parents. Take for instance that the time from Adam to Moses, God was simply known as El, or God. After Moses came down from the Mountain, God was now known as Yhwh / Jhvh or Jehovah or Yahweh. So, some 2,000 years later we learn God's identity as the "I AM" God. Then, around 1,300 years after that we find that Christ Jesus is born, again, on God's timetable, not ours. So, with time comes understanding. As adults we learn things about our parents we never knew as children because it was "beyond our scope." Meaning that we would not have understood WHY our parents had done certain things as children, but now as adults, we can accept the reasons for their actions, whether we agree or not. The same is true for God, only by becoming spiritually adult can someone hope to understand the meaning of many things that have been done by and for him. So, its not a matter of ignorance, its a matter of when the time was right, the truth will be exposed to those who can understand and appreciate it. The rest, well, they won't understand and it wasn't for them anyways.
