I'm not sure, but the best favour they could give you is the name of a good divorce lawyer. Cheers!

I'd say something useful or edible - can't go wrong there. Why not small candles, small boxes of tea/coffee, wine bottle openers or wine bottle stoppers with a note of thanks to your guests? I think these types of favors are more "universal" and would appeal to most everyone at your wedding. I'd stay away from things that are engraved or too personalized with the bride and groom's names and wedding date. These things seem to get left behind, and honestly, how many engraved shot-glasses or photo frames does one need??? : ) I'd recommend considering the theme (if you have one) and the colors of your wedding and try to tie something in with these in mind. My sister recently got married and we found some really cool hand-carved boxes with tea inside at www.gratitudeology.com. They have a variety of unique favors and ideas to choose from so you may want to take a peek at what they have. Also, I noticed they have a "favor selection worksheet" which may be of help to you in making your wedding favor selection. In any event, you are only limited by your imagination. Enjoy and have fun!

Don't waste your money on wedding favours. I decided not to have any as nobody really bothers with them afterwards except the bride and groom's close relatives. In fact the last wedding I went to lots of people went home and left the wedding favours on the table! Rather spend the money on more beautiful flowers for the tables. If you really want to have them then chocolates would be best, sugared almonds break your teeth!

The sugar almonds in the net bags are nice on the table layout. You could even get your wedding info printed onto small pieces of fancy paper and buy the tiny wedding rings and make them into scrolls for the table. That way its something for everyone to keep. A wedding i went to a few years ago did this and it looked really nice and its nice to have a momento from the couples happy day.

We are having a stack of fairy cakes as our wedding cake, with a large tier on the top which we will cut and eat on the day with our guests, then the fairy cakes can be given as favours at the end of the day, each cake it a little see through box with a label attached. I don't think people keep things like scrolls, most people just throw those away, something edible is better, or those paper bookmark type things that have flower seeds embedded in them, people can plant those in their gardens.

I got married in September and had sweet peas in my bouquet and on the tables. I wanted to give out little sachets of sweet pea seeds with the date of our wedding and our names on the envelopes but i never got my act together to pull it off. I think it would be quite cheap to do and that way your guest have something to remember the day by. Good luck.

I went to a niece's wedding a few months ago and their favours were engraved glass coasters. Engraving was the bride and groom's monograms. Very nice for a small wedding but I would think, costly for a large gathering.
For our wedding, my husband and I had a picture taken of us just before we were married (to announce our engagement) , and put them into 3x4 gold frame, wrapped them up in netting, a little bow and a placecard for the table. Guests picked them up when they checked to see which table they were assigned to.
Later, if the guest wanted, they could take out the picture and replace with a wedding photo or with one of their own.

For my stepson's wedding, I did the same type of thing but instead of their picture (I didn't have one), I made up a card on the computer, which gave the name of bride and groom and date of wedding with appropriate clip art..

For my step-daughter's wedding, I bought the little brass bells and tied on the place cards with name of guest and which table # they were seated at. Again, these were picked up when getting seating assignments.

A little bud vase which holds a rose or a few flowers could be used at each place setting.. Tie with ribbon in wedding scheme color.

Little nylon bags of potpourri or pastel mints would be another idea.

Or you could think of something unique which defines you and your fiance.

For a bridal shower someone gave for me, the favor was a unique christmas brass ornament which was a music clef and notes on a scale. My husband sang in a quartet and loved music. To this day, every Christmas I put up a little tree, all done in red and gold using these ornaments. My friend was able to acquire a dozen of them for me. What a keepsake for us!
Another friend of ours, for her wedding, gave clear glass ornaments, filled with an artificial rose and confetti. That hangs on our big tree every year.
Be creative and have fun. Instead of traditional favors, think of something that defines you or the season or a hobby of yours.

Don't give sugared almonds - who on gods earth would want them?

My friend bought everyone a lottery scratchcard which was good...

Another friend made shortbread biscuits which were heart shaped

Another one gave pizza cutters in the shape of a bike - he was a cyclist!

I like the idea of plant seeds

Cd with your fave songs on is good idea and cheap to do

Lovehearts are also good

I also like the idea of sparklers

I think the holiday ornament with a pic of the happy couple on it is a great craft idea. And photo magnets with your wedding date on it.
Also a CD with some of the music from the wedding on it
with a pic of the happy couple as the cover.
Easy DIY home PC stuff!
Have fun!

Laura Secords sells tiny boxes of one or two chocolate truffles - my wife and I did that; little silver boxes with a tiny white champagne truffle inside for each guest. Worked pretty well, too, and the price was right!

We made our favours - 4 foil covered chocolate hearts in net and cellophane and tied with ribbon. To be honest I justwent for favours which went with our colour theme, I dont thing that most people take much notice - its only really the bride and groom who get hung up on things like favours!

Go for something cheap and cheerful which goes with your theme.
