Hey. Generally, milk has a constipating effect, but there are those that are intolerant of lactose and get the runs.I give dogs dog food. That way there are no dietary related gastrointestinal problems. True dogs are omnivorous, but dog food was designed for dogs.Have a great holiday. Approach grand mama with tact and appreciation, so that she may stop the cereal and milk breakfast. Good luck.

Dogs are carnivores and need to eat meat based, high quality dog food with no corn, little wheat, and no soy or by-products.

It sounds like your grandmother has set a precedence though and it may not be an easy task getting this dog to eat dog food. But then again, will it be an easy task getting your grandmother to feed it dog food?
