Yes and we have been dating 3 years now..
however, make sure you email back and forth awhile to get an idea of them first. that way your first meeting isnt ackward. I emailed my current boyfriend for about a month. We also talked on the phone after 2 weeks.
I'd had a profile up on yahoo for about a year and 1/2 before i met my bf. However sometimes it just takes adding new pictures or updating your profile often to make sure if you aren't catching someones eye, maybe its because you need more pictures.. or better pictures - make sure you have a clear face pic on your profile.
Also make sure you describe who you want to meet - but be open minded. If you describe a rock solid dream person with no give then don't be shocked not to meet anyone.
people want to know if you two will mesh or might mesh..
Another thing to do, is to get a paid account. then email everyone you like and i mean everyone.. make good use of that 30 day account. Those ice breaker things rarely work because in order to get a good idea of someone, you have to be able to talk.
the one thing I like about yahoo is the opportunity to be able to respond to an email even if you aren't a member... i dont know if thats changed, but I hope it hasn't.

I had a boss that I use to work with ( female ) and I saw she had a profile on the yahoo personals....what a load of crap she put in ! So far off the truth she must have been on Mars when she wrote it. I'm sure there are good honest people on yahoo personals...just hard to see the forest for the trees.

I married the third man I met on Yahoo personals. We have been together 6 1/2 yrs and have a 3 yr old son together. He still calls me everyday from work just to be sweet...So, Yes. Just make sure your serious about what your looking for and look for someone with the same interests....Good Luck

I've never subscribed, but I don't see anyone worthwhile to me on right now. OK, like three women. The rest are too old, too fat, or too strange. And I'm not paying $30 per month to hit on three women who probably wouldn't like me anyway. The sad thing is that they don't seem to get anyone new on. Unless they're all hiding their profiles, there's no way to excuse that. Good luck!
