That is NOT their only purpose. Animals have souls just as we do and they go through the same effects of karma as we do. When they suffer, it burns karma and opens the doors for their next reincarnation in better circumstances.

I assume you are making a distinction humans and the rest of the animal kingdom. And, I assume you are thinking of a particular kind of suffering although that is not clear.
How do animals suffer more than humans? I have been to Walter Reed AMC about a dozen times in the last year and I have seen a lot of suffering by those returning from Iraq (including a 20 year with no face – and I mean absolutely no face), as well as those who are being treated for other conditions.
Every human, as with every other animal, ages, weakens, deteriorates, and dies, often under most unpleasant circumstances. In America, many pets receive better health care than humans. In the wild, animals often die under more humane circumstances than do humans in a supposedly civilized world.
Humans may be unique, in fact, in the amount of emotional and mental suffering they experience relative to other animals. Of course the upside to that is all the art, music, and literature it has produced. It appears that you have not suffered much in your life, and for that you should be thankful. However, such is not the case for millions (or, billions) of other people – and it can change for any one of us in heartbeat.

The purpose of animals goes far beyond their usefulness to us. Each animal is a unit of life, growing in awareness as part of the overall Consciousness which is God. God allows animals to feel pain because pain is part of life, it guides the organism away from that which is harmful. Suffering is awareness of pain, and, since God is awareness, God cannot prevent suffering. (No, I dont' believe that God is omnipotent in the usual judeaochristian sense.)

The animals have been corrupted by using the autumn of humanity as properly, as previously Adam sinned all animals have been herbivores and friendly, and then after sin entered into the international, many animals grew to alter into risky, and have been no longer subservient to humanity. God created each and everything and has a suitable to do with it has he pleases.

Why wouldn't He allow this? We suffer, and we're His children. Animals are just "animals", in the end it really doesn't matter. As to their purpose, I think it goes a little more in depth than what you mentioned, they play an important role in the whole ecology of the planet too.

Suffering is a natural part of physical existence. All physical things, living or nonliving, break down over time, and in living things this breakdown, whether by disease, injury or simply aging, involves suffering.

what do you mean, entertain? they are created for the sole purpose of feeding us, clothing us etc etc and their souls are taken to heaven when they die. and as for suffering, we all suffer to some extent or other. if there was no suffering, what the hell would the point of the earth be.

One reason may be to teach us to be better stewards. If animals didn't suffer at all, then more people might be a lot harsher in raising and harvesting them.

Anyone who believes animals' ONLY purposes are to feed/ clothe and entertain us is gravely mistaken and sick.
