A Pell Grant comes directly from the Federal Deparment of Education. Your elligibility is determined using the fafsa, or Free Application for Federal Student Aid. You can find it on line or get a paper application at your schools financial aid office. Most high schools have this application in the advising office, along with clear instructions on how to fill it out.

You need to file the FAFSA form. The Pell Grant is a need based financial aid program from the government based on family income and resources. If you are currently attending high school, the high school guidance office should have a list of local scholarships. I have included some resources on financial aid and scholarship search websites (recommend joining more than one search website). Good luck!

You can go to the financial aid office of the school that you plan to attend and they will direct you. You will need to fill out a FAFSA form to apply for any government sponsored grants or loans. Make sure that you have all of your financial information with you when you fill out the form; stuff like your tax return for the previous year and any other sources of money that you might have including your job.
