It's good that you are questioning your drinking habits.I've been sober for over 10 months after drinking to excess for over 20 years.I had the best times of my life when I was drunk doing wild things that I cant really believe I did. On the flip side of that, drink also brought years of insane trouble to myself and all those that I loved. From jail to being shot at and stabbed and in horrific car crashes and waking up penniless in a foreign country not knowing how I got there. Now I'm 37 and I cant ever drink again. I just wished that I could have exercised some self control with alcohol when I was younger but due to the under estimated power of drink I doubt it would have made much difference.I've told you all this for two reasons...I hope it may help you to keep an eye on the effect that alcohol has on your life and secondly ...it helps me get things in perspective and aids me in my staying sober...I think you will be fine because you illustrate in your question that you are a very conscietious and thoughtful person...but good luck anyway x

You got so many answers its difficult to give you a different angle, but I used to own a bar and I've seen the effects of booze, my Dad was also an alcoholic so I've seen what it can do to families too, so much so that I promised myself that I wouldn't drink once I met a partner, I used to when I was young but dropped it just in time, like most drugs you think that you can control it but its seldom the case. Like another of the people that answered your question I can have a good time without getting plastered and the cost of getting drunk today could run a third world country for a month. Pack it up.

Some people think they need to have a few drinks to feel more relaxed about themselves, perhaps they are a little shy and a few drinks gives them a bit more encouragement to speak out. That is just all in the mind. I think drinking is a total waste of hard earned money and I certainly would not touch the stuff. Just to see what people do when they have a few too many is enough to put you off for life. They do some of the stupidest things when they are drunk. If only they could see themselves.

Ok, so we all know the health risks with drinking. And we all know that some people are at risk of becoming dangerously dependent. But for those of us who can make an informed decision, what's wrong with an occassional tipple? Maybe we would live longer if we were teetotal but life should be about (responsible) pleasure. live a little. Don't worry so much. A pint of beer after work or a glass of wine with good food and good company, these are life's little pleasures.

We tried that, and it appears that evidently making anybody interior the rustic stick to a pair non secular nutjobs' own codes of habit became a depressing failure. "And if it have been to be prohibited, none of this might have happed." stay at school youngster, and be advantageous to take background instructions. Secondly, once you're a teenager, it *is* prohibited and it nevertheless happens. i'm sorry, however the horror memories your faith has knowledgeable you to have faith approximately drugs and alcohol are exagerated. particular, under the effect of alcohol using is deadly and incorrect... and unlawful, and the effects could arguably be worse. Fatigued using... felony yet in simple terms as deadly. you do not could drink to the component to unconsciousness once you drink, and a great variety of folk discover it facilitates them relax socially. i think you would be wanting to arrest Jesus, who not in basic terms drank alcohol, he presented alcohol (the stable stuff) for a marriage occasion. in case you think of by ingesting, you will possibly embarass your self, then no one is making you drink. If human beings prefer to do some thing which could embarass you in case you probably did it, then what of it. It seems that they are their very own people who could make their very own possibilities. not anybody is you. save your paws off my beer, newborn, and end enjoying at being an person.

If your drinking to excess and feeling a little out of control, you will feel more empowered by living without alcohol and thus enhance the quality of life. If you are drinking out of boredom, find something more fulfilling to do with your time. By the way, I wouldn't worry so much about using your extra cash from sobriety for "God's purposes", try rewarding yourself first.

definately,
just coming off the stuff, and makes you consider why you really do drink, not just why you think you do.
As John Lennon said the best high is to be on nothing at all.
Plus when your drunk people can and will F**** you over in all kinds of imaginative ways. Trust me on that one. I'm sure you'd have no less fun without a drink, all it does is turn you into a t*@t. Which seems amusing when your inebriated, granted.

Yes, I was drinking for 15 years,if not longer, and I find it much better now that I have quit. MY mind is clearer and I have done a lot of growth since I quit driking. Now that I look back, there are a lot of reasons that drinking is very immature, besides the way we can act when we have to much...
